Boisterous, bubbly, faltering yet certain the legs ascend the ladder to middle school. From a child to a teenage the climb is steep never the less mandatory. Acquisition of knowledge is the agenda but the path is strewn with excitement. Opportunities await on the other gate promising recognition, responsibility and rewards in the form of co-curricular activities replete with medals and certificates.
At an age when travails and travesty run rampage, a soft pat of encouragement, a smile of appreciation and a nod of understanding act as incentives. Carmel culture smoothens this tough transformation into a trifling travel from one floor to another. The new pre-teen soon matures into an adolescent confident, creative and composed.

Principal's Message
I have always loved the saying – “What-so-ever a man soweth so shall he reapth”. It describes my responsibility clearly and concisely, the precise spot where the gains stop. The lesson is clear, careful cultivation pays off. Children who are nurtured well, praised and when necessary disciplined fairly, enjoy happier and more successful lives for themselves and those in their charge.
I am blessed to be moulding the lives of the middle school students at Carmel. In the middle school level, schooling gets more difficult. Teachers challenge students with long-term projects that require planning and organization. Middle school is a transition time for a student, when the teachers play a crucial role in understanding, reassuring and supporting the student. At this critical age, children become skilful writers with their own individual style. They learn to solve complex problems. We mould children to observe, experiment, to gather data and draw conclusions.
Here, we empathize with the child and see that a teacher is a positive mediator between the parent and the student. This helps them deal with problems of growing up, coping with their studies and planning their careers.
We believe in fostering positive relationships with the students to create a classroom environment, more conducive to learning and meet students’ developmental, emotional and academic needs. This has been the mantra of my team.
I am indeed privileged to lead a team of dedicated and experienced teachers who have taken up this responsibility of imbibing good morals and laying the foundation for excellence.

Value Education
he Higher Primary Section consists of Std V, VI and VII. Here the ICSE syllabus is strictly adhered to both in teaching and evaluation.
Step up to higher primary is a leap in terms of academic expertise, but a cake walk with supportive and sympathetic teachers who literally guide them through this phase. For these bundles of energy, a sporting atmosphere replete with competitions and comprehensive development. A shaky step graduates to a confident stride at Carmel with encouraging nudge and enthusiastic support from the faculty. Activities galore to keep the energetic teenagers occupied in the mantra, sports, co-curricular activities, competitions in the name of the week long talent contests `Spandana’ is a myth here as every class is unique.
The child is the focus of attention in the academic process and learning is made easy because of a child friendly atmosphere with a well-planned academic calendar to provide stress free learning balanced with co-curricular activities.
Evaluation & Assessment
Life in itself is a big examination. At every step one has to face certain tests. The success is always marked with dignity and honour which adds to one’s ability, power of tolerance, perseverance and good qualities.
We in middle school prepare our students for this in the form of tests and examinations. The progress of the students is evaluated through well planned unit tests and examinations.

Morning-Assembly
The Morning Assembly is one of the most important aspect of a schools curriculum. It nurtures positive ethos, pupil self-development and therefore raising standards of all forms of achievement and excellence. Careful planning is done each week on topics that reflect upon a set of universal values such as love, peace, truth, cooperation and respect; personal, social and health education; moral and cultural aspects of the curriculum etc.
Teachers teach the art of worship, discipline, sense of unity and harmony as the entire class gathers in cohesive spirit for the Assembly Programme. School Prayer, National Pledge, Physical exercise and daily News form a part of every Assembly Programme. Student turnout is checked and corrected for their overall grooming. The National Anthem sung at the end of the Assembly Programme instills a great sense of National Pride and Patriotism in the Young Indians.
